Invite a company to DB Connect and share a job card

There is no email invite on DB Connect — both companies simply need Dispatch Bros accounts with DB Connect on their plan. You connect by identity: share your Connect ID (format DB-12345-ABC) with the partner, or search for theirs from New chat. Direct chats open instantly; group membership uses an invite that the other company accepts from a Group invitations banner in their inbox. Once you're talking, work moves between companies as job cards — privacy-safe job snapshots that open the job in one click.

Before you start

• Both companies need DB Connect included in their plan (overview).
• Group invitations are accepted by the receiving company's admins.

Step 1 — Find and share your Connect ID

1. Open DB Connect in the left sidebar.
2. Open the settings panel (gear icon in the inbox header). Your Connect ID is shown under your company name — click it to copy.
3. Send it to your partner however you like. Partners use this Connect ID to find your company and start a conversation.

Step 2 — Start a direct chat with a partner

1. Click the New chat button in the inbox header.
2. Type in the search box — Search company name or Connect ID — a name or a pasted ID like DB-12345-ABC.
3. Click the company in the results. The chat opens immediately for both sides; no acceptance step.

Step 3 — Invite a company into a group

Groups use an invite model: you add them, they accept.

1. In New chat, click New group.
2. Search — Search company name, team member, or Connect ID — and select the partner companies and any of your own team members to include. Team members without access are marked "Not enabled for DB Connect".
3. Click continue, name the group (up to 60 characters, optional description), and create it.
4. The invited company sees a Group invitations banner at the top of their DB Connect inbox, showing the group name and who invited them, with Accept and decline buttons. On accept, the group appears in their inbox; on decline, nothing is added.

Step 4 — Share a job card

Job cards are how work travels on the network. The AI Closing system posts them automatically into your pinned AI Closing group when it detects a closing in your conversations, and job-linked messages carry them in any thread.

What the other company sees on a card is deliberately limited: job number, service type, scheduled date and time window, customer first name, city and state, a short problem description, and priority. Phone numbers, last names, street addresses, and finance figures never cross to the other company. Your own team, viewing your own job's card, sees the live job details.

Clicking a card that carries a job number opens your Jobs page filtered to that job. A card without a number renders as a minimal "Job snapshot".

Troubleshooting

• "No companies found." — the search matched nothing. The hint says it best: "Try a different name or paste a Connect ID like DB-12345-ABC." Confirm the partner is on Dispatch Bros with DB Connect active.
• "We couldn't find that partner Connect ID." — the ID doesn't match an active company on the network. Re-check it with your partner.
• "Connect IDs must look like DB-12345-ABC." — the ID format is DB, five digits, three letters. Fix the typo.
• "You can't message yourself." — you searched your own company's Connect ID. Use a partner's ID instead.
• "Couldn't accept the invitation. Try again." — the accept call failed (network hiccup, or the inviter cancelled the invite). Reload and try again.
• The partner never saw the group invite — invitations appear only inside their DB Connect inbox, not by email. Ask them to open DB Connect and look for the Group invitations banner.
