Team, Permissions & Payroll
Technicians, dispatchers, admins, subcontractors, role permissions, time clock, and payroll.
Add a technician
Add a field technician in Dispatch Bros: open Team → Technicians, click Add Technician, set their commission and base address, and choose whether they get their own login.
Add a dispatcher or admin
Add office staff in Dispatch Bros: Team → Dispatchers or Team → Admins, click Add, and enter their name — email and phone are optional. An activation email invites them to set a password.
What each role can see and do
Dispatch Bros has four roles — Owner, Admin, Dispatcher, Technician. Owner is fixed; the other three are customizable per company from Settings → Roles & Permissions.
What technicians see in the mobile app
Technicians get a simplified mobile view with four tabs — Today, All Jobs, Messages, and Profile — showing only their own assigned jobs, with tap-to-call, directions, and clock in/out.
Add subcontractors: trade, insurance, files
Keep a roster of the subs you bring onto projects — Team → Subcontractors stores each sub's trade, license, insurance expiry, and a file library for certificates, W-9s, and photos.
The Sub flag: shared subcontractors
The Sub checkbox marks a technician as a shared, assign-only subcontractor — no login, no activation email — so the same person can work for multiple companies on Dispatch Bros.
Track referral companies and their fees
Add the outside companies that send you jobs under Team → Referral Co., set each one's default referral rate, and Dispatch Bros calculates their cut automatically when you close a job.
Time tracking: clock in and out
Team members with clock-in enabled track hours from the top-bar Clock widget or the technician app. Optional enforcement can require clock-in before using the app and auto clock-out at declared hours.
Run payroll with pay periods
Pick a pay period on the Payroll page, review each employee's unpaid hours and owed amount, fix any entries, press Confirm Paid per person, and export the run to CSV.
