Block a spam caller (Blocked Numbers)

Last updated: Aug 24, 2026

To stop a spam caller, block their number: open Phone System, go to the Blocked Numbers tab, and click Block a number — or block straight from the Calls table when you're looking at the call. Once blocked, inbound calls from that number no longer reach your phone system — no ringing, no voicemail. You can unblock any number later with one click.

Before you start

  • You need an owner, admin, or dispatcher login. Technicians see "Restricted to dispatchers and admins" instead of the list.

Step 1 — Block the number

There are two ways:

  • From the Calls table — block the caller directly from their call row. The empty state on the Blocked Numbers tab reminds you: "Block callers from the Calls table, or add a number manually."
  • Manually — on Phone System → Blocked Numbers, click Block a number, type the caller under Phone number (any format works — for example (425) 555-0134), and click Block number. You'll see the "Number blocked" confirmation (or "Number is already blocked" if it was blocked before).

Step 2 — Review the blocked list

The Blocked Numbers tab lists "Numbers blocked from reaching your inbound phone system." — each row shows the number and when it was blocked. Use the "Search by number..." box to find a specific one; the search matches any part of the number in any format you paste.

Step 3 — Unblock when needed

  1. Find the row and click Unblock.
  2. Confirm in the "Unblock number?" dialog — it explains that calls from the number will be allowed to reach your phone system again.
  3. You'll see "Number unblocked" and the row disappears.

Troubleshooting

  • "Enter a valid phone number, e.g. (425) 555-0134." — the number you typed isn't a valid phone number. Include the full 10-digit US number; formatting characters are fine.
  • "No blocked numbers match your search" — the app suggests: "Try fewer digits — the search matches any part of the number."
  • "Failed to load blocked numbers" — a temporary loading problem; click Retry in the error banner.
  • The spammer keeps calling from new numbers — blocking is per-number. Block each new number as it appears; repeat abusers who abandon calls in your phone menu can also end up blocked automatically by the spam protections.

FAQ

What happens when I block a number?

Inbound calls from that number no longer reach your phone system — no ringing, no voicemail routing. Your team simply never sees the call.

Who can manage blocked numbers?

Owners, admins, and dispatchers. Technicians see a notice that the list is restricted to dispatchers and admins.

Can I unblock someone later?

Yes — find the row in Phone System → Blocked Numbers and click Unblock. Calls from that number reach your phone system again immediately.

Does blocking stop their text messages too?

Blocked senders can't resurface conversations or trigger notifications. Their messages are kept silently for your records rather than alerting your team.
